Chuck Brown (aka Me)

I am a 31 year old professional geek. I’d write “Server Guy” or “Web Developer” or one of many other titles that fit some of the things I have picked up over the years as talents and abilities, but honestly I’m just a geek who enjoys fiddling with computers, electronics – but too I enjoy my frist love of the arts, photography, outdoors, etc.

Growing up in what was originally a small town (which has grown quiet a bit) called Bakersfield (CA) I was blessed to have 2 amazing parents, and 2 amazing grandparents who shaped my life and encouraged me in my various talents – I picked up Piano at a young age sponsored by my grandfather’s church to be the church Pianist, it was a fun experience but also fun to serve in my church and really just enjoy worshiping thru music – thru Jr. High and Highschool I performed in choral music, starting in Jr. High as a baritone but once I arrived in highschool having the director note “Uhm I think your actually a tenor” :) was very honored to take part one year in the ACDA National Convention – was amazing to hear some other choirs from around the world!

Professionally now I own my own business called Thrust Networks, it is the front runner of my company providing a bulk of my funds, but an offshoot of it which holds its own is FlockHosting – both offer primarily shared website hosting  but in the last few years have a couple of larger customers with custom servers which I also manage and do updates on for them, it’s been a great business, and is once again in a upswing as folks brave crazy economy right now – in addition I work at a Lab Supply company as the IT manager, doing the usual 9-to-5 grind restarting computers, printers, repair, etc.

I am a Christian, not just a church piano player ;) I currently am between churches looking for a place I can serve and be fed, nice to be wanted though as a few churches have made requests of me to come and possibly participate in youth programs and or music ministry – currently exploring – and time will tell where I end up! But it is fun to visit around town, have helped out a few churches with websites, email, etc. nice to be able to have the resources to bless local ministries with some storage and resources to minister not just locally but worldwide if they so desire.

Family wise I have 2 siblings both of which are happily married, my older brother lives in the central coast with his wife and 2 beautiful kids which I love to pieces! My younger sister lives in town here with her Husband, she recently just got a paid internship as a school psychologist! Very proud of her! Me, currently dating an amazing Christian woman named Heather – totally blessed to have her in my life!

CMBits is my labor of love, I enjoy Christian Media – be it books, movies, its fun stuff – so this is my run at a website, its going to probably be constantly changing and adapting, but God willing it’ll continue to grow and be a blessing to folks!  Please feel free to contact me if you have media you want showcased here on the website!
