I have communicated with our bat expert in Lawrenceville for many years, and he abides by these bat removal principles:
- Always perform a proper live exclusion.
- Never use poisons or fumigants or kill bats.
- Never use traps or attempt to relocate bats.
- Never do a removal during the maternity season.
- Seal all entry points shut with guarantee.
- Offer attic cleanup and decontamination.
- Properly Georgia licensed and insured.
Before you hire anyone, including our tech at 678-804-4556, talk to them, and make sure that they understand what they are doing, and that they have experience. Be sure that they do abide by the principles I outlined above. This is not just for the sake of the bats - I'm no tree hugger - it's for the sake of doing the job correctly, for you and your property. The fact that it's good for the bats as well is a lucky coincidence. And really, bats are good animals, which I'm sure you realize. I hope you have a good experience with your Lawrenceville bat control project. You can email me personally if you have any problems with our tech, and I will talk to him, but I doubt that will be necessary. Good luck!
Lawrenceville wildlife control company bat reader email:
Hi David, What a sensible and well-written article on dealing humanely with these ugly little things. My plan was to purchase one of those repellent devices and then set about sealing off their access points, when I had frightened them away. Clearly, given your piece, that would not have been a very sensible strategy for the bats or for me... an attic full of dead bats!! So glad I read your article...and the bit about one way funnels. I guess I could use my imagination and concoct something that lets these creatures slip out never to get back but I thought better to speak to you , especially as you said to readers who reached the end, to fire off an e-email, if they had a question. I guess you don't get many calls from Georgia but I thought I would write on ?the off chance'. In any event David, great article - you saved me from one elementary error...and the bats from an unfortunate end. I won't now be bothering with one of those repellent devices... but if you could describe in a line or two. ?a one way funnel', I would be grateful. Many thanks, Jim
